To create a Black Greeks account:
Download the Black Greeks app from the App Store or Google Play, open the app, and select “Sign Up.” You can sign up using your mobile number, email address, Apple ID, Google, or Facebook login.
Next, follow the prompts to enter your details and set up your profile. When creating a profile, you will be asked for basic information like your name, age, gender, organization affiliation, and location. You’ll also need to set up your profile with photos and answers to prompts to help others get to know you.
Specify your dating and/or connecting preferences, including age range, distance, and other criteria, to receive more tailored matches.
After completing your profile, review all the information to ensure accuracy and completeness. A well-crafted profile increases your chances of meaningful connections.
Navigate the features of Black Greeks through the icons at the bottom of the screen:
Home: Start with the Home feed to explore potential date and/or connection matches, swiping or interacting based on your preferences.
Likes: Visit the Likes section to see who has shown interest in you, using the toggle at the top to view potential Dates and/or Connects, depending on who you want to match with.
Chat: Use Chat feature to message people who you have matched with, and build friendships or relationships with mutual matches.
Profile: Manage your personal information, photos, and preferences in the Profile section to keep your account up-to-date and engaging.
Black Greeks uniquely combines community, tradition, and modern connection by allowing users to match for dating or connections (such as networking or friendship) — or both. This dual-purpose matching feature lets you tailor your experience to find valuable connections and meaningful relationships within the Black Greek community. By offering two distinct yet complementary connection types, Black Greeks acknowledges the diverse needs of its users and creates a dynamic space where all aspects of life — love, growth, and community — are celebrated.
Dating: Dating matches focus on fostering romantic relationships. These matches offer a unique layer of compatibility, as members already share core values, traditions, and a sense of community rooted in their Black Greeks organization affiliation. This creates a great foundation for building deeper emotional and personal connections.
Connecting: Connection matches cater to those seeking friendships, mentorship, or professional networking opportunities within the Black Greeks community. Whether you’re seeking career advice, looking to collaborate on community initiatives, or hoping to build lifelong friendships, connection matches allow you to grow your circle with people who share similar passions and goals.
Sending Flowers: To stand out and make a memorable impression, users can send matches digital flowers: Tulips (a thoughtful, basic-tier gesture) or Birds of Paradise (a luxury-tier option) to signify deeper interest or admiration. These digital tokens serve as a great way to break the ice or emphasize your excitement about a match.
Black Greek profiles are rich with details to foster intentional connections. Depending on each user’s visibility settings, you can see your match’s Black Greek organization, whether they are a student or graduate, their alma mater, current company, and interests. Additionally, profiles show who they are interested in matching with — be it for dating or other connections — and the purpose behind their search. This transparency helps ensure Black Greek matches are aligned with your goals, whether you’re looking for love, career opportunities, or shared interests within the Black Greeks community.
To edit your matching filter:
Tap the Profile icon on the far right of the navigation bar
Tap the Filter icon in the upper right
Tap to change what you are looking for — dates, connections, or both
Tap the preference that you want to change
Once you tap the back arrow and close out of the filter, your preferences are automatically saved and your new customized preferences will be applied to the matches showing in your Home feed.
As you keep using the app, Black Greeks fine-tunes your recommendations based on what you like and how you connect, making it easier to find the right people for you.

With customizable options in your account settings, you’re in control. Update your relationship preferences anytime to match your vibe.
To update your relationship type:
Tap your Profile icon on the far right of the navigation bar
Tap the Edie Profile link
Navigate to the My Relationship Goals section and choose your preference — Connection only, Dating only, or both
To update your profile visibility on Black Greeks:
Sign into the Black Greeks app
Tap your Profile Icon on the far right of the navigation bar
Tap the Edit Profile link
This will take you into your full profile. You can edit any section’s visibility by tapping the pencil icon next to that section, checking or unchecking the “Visible on profile” option at the bottom, and then hitting “Done” in the upper right corner to save your changes.
To pause or unpause your Black Greeks account:
Sign into the Black Greeks app
Tap your Profile Icon on the far right of the navigation bar
Tap the Settings gear icon in the top right corner
Toggle the Pause switch to the on or off position
The Pause toggle will prevent you from being shown to new people. You’ll still be able to chat with your existing matches. If you sent someone a Like or Connect before you paused your account, that person will still receive your Like or Connect and have the option to match with you.
